Good Medicine Wall, Ruth Lake June 30, 2006
This steep section of the trail is just before arriving to the Good Medicine Wall. In the spring it's nothing more than a stream of water.

Climbers and volunteer climbers sharing the space. The climbers that showed up to climb were respectful and kept off the climbs on the talus. Thanks!

Good Medicine Wall Trail, Ruth Lake July 22, 2006
This is a photo of the steep trail after the re-route took it away from the drainage point and utilized existing rocks as steps. A few tree branches were trimmed from the pine tree and some dead fall was used to "blockade" the existing trail. Time will tell if this becomes a more effective trail at mitigating erosion.

This was a really cool drainage system built where the trail is always wet and muddy. The bottom of the drainage is on bedrock. I'm interested to see how the spring melt/run-off works with this.
