This steep section of the trail is just before arriving to the Good Medicine Wall. In the spring it's nothing more than a stream of water.
Yep, another picture of the death talus immortalized. It is no longer a death talus but a kindler, gentler talus.
Ok, rookie move. Either rotate your monitor 90 degrees to the clockwise direction or just tilt your head to the left. There you go, that there is a scary death talus.
You can see some of the terracing taking shape in this photo as the crew makes thier way down hill to build more.
This is a photo of the steep trail after the re-route took it away from the drainage point and utilized existing rocks as steps. A few tree branches were trimmed from the pine tree and some dead fall was used to "blockade" the existing trail. Time will tell if this becomes a more effective trail at mitigating erosion.
